Diary of the Team Razor uk christmas tour 201017th February 2011

Day one: After a three hour journey to London Euston, Me, Ben Grantham and Dom Olorenshaw met up with Lewis crampton to then be picked up to head to picadilly station to pick up Joe Mcdonald and Dogg riders Jon carter and Ben Mathews. We then started the journey to the first stop of our tour- Revolution skatepark in Margate. It wasn’t till we left picadilly that the heavy snow started coming down, and within minutes was causing major disruptions on our route, leaving us at a standstill for most of the time and with cars being abandoned and skidding out on the motorways. What should have taken an hour and a half took almost eight hours!!! We finally arrived at Revolution skatepark with a very tired Sam Everett and Marcus Dennis waiting for us as well as Dogg riders Ryan Scott and Brandon James. We then seshed the park till late, with so many bangers being thrown down over the box by everyone whilst Brandon, Lewis, Jon and myself had a chilled tech session on the driveway, how the hell can lewis be so consistent after not riding?! Just blows my mind how he can send some techy bangers and still be stylish and consistent after not riding for a couple of weeks (English weather is appalling). Despite the long journey everyone was shredding that park to pieces!! It was then time for the park to close so we all lumbered in the tour van to head to grab a bite to eat then check in to our hotel, ready to get some rest for the days ahead.

Day two: Due to the weather causing major disruption, the decision was made to ride Revolution skatepark again, I started riding the driveway to begin with along with everyone else to warm up, (the set up is so lush to get creative with!) yet despite the ramps not being what he usually rides, Domo just killed it, doing a sexy smith grind to one of the cleanest Inwards I have ever seen with a beaming smile on his face haha. After a couple of hours riding we all decided to head to a pub to grab something to eat, to then head back to the park for another hour to get a few clips in. Sam Everett was on fire that day, that kid just makes me wonder whether he thinks any of the stuff he does is actually hard, just sending a flair on a small vert wall seemed like no major biggie to him as well as his back to back turndown invert combos just leaving everyone speechless. It Was then up to lewis to get the final banger of the day, a steezy nose grab over the box to a super clean whip catch air to manny down a six foot quarter- what a treat. We then headed off towards London to find our next place to stay at for the remaining days, most of the snow had cleared up so we arrived there about seven o’clock, ready to then go and grab some nom nom’s at a pizza restaurant. We then got back and went to sleep ready to go around London and get a few pictures and clippies with the guys from Spiked.

Day three: The day started with us visiting Buckingham palace then going to Big Ben, and afterwards getting a few picture in front of the London eye. It was afterwards that we all seshed south bank to get a few pictures with the spiked photographer, I was happy to be getting some pictures at a park where it suited my riding, and so was lewis and Ben haha, but what was disappointing was the fact the ground was partially wet at some parts which limited what we could ride so that was a bit of a downer, but we got the pics that we needed so we were all pretty stoked. We then had a few pictures taken at the Shakespeare theatre then headed back to the hotel after eating out. Everyone was so tired after all the walking we did haha.

Day four: Bay 66 was our next stop of the tour, with this being the first time scooters ever being allowed into the skatepark, the owners are hardcore skaters who don’t really like scooters, but nevertheless we got a good session in with everyone loving the park. I think Joe would gladly say that he loved vert ramp set up, he certainly looked like he was having a good time when he was killing it on the ramp haha.  But unlucky for me, I was stupid enough to try a waffle air on a three foot quarter with wet feet, the result was me falling on my face and taking a bite out of my cheek and blood dripping out of my mouth (badtimes indeed). But luckily for me the guys were there to make sure I was ok, and after a few minutes chilling, I was back on my feet doing Bartwists (as is expected of me haha). We were only allowed to ride the one half of the park until the main session started which was at about three o’clock. When the time came we all rushed into the main park to ride the set up.  Ben as usual was being stupidly consistent and throwing bangers into most of his runs, I recall seeing a bar to oppo feeble to two-seventy bri into the quarter behind the spine which left everyone speechless, which was then followed by a buttery inward over the spine – legit.Sam Everett kept his trend of literally being able to flair anything by flairing this quarter with very short transition above a bank with utter 100% swag. After our hour of riding was up, we then left the park to head back to the hotel and chill out ready to go home the next day, as a result of our session, the guys at bay 66 were so amazed with the potential of the sport they decided to make a scooters only day on a Tuesday, thanks to us guys from Razor UK. An accomplishment that we were all very proud of.

The next day consisted of goodbyes and everyone catching the train home, everyone was sad to be leaving, but the fact that there is so much to come from Razor in the coming year left everyone optimistic and excited for the next trip we were going to be on next.
